2nd stage of the HAWK EUROPEAN TOUR
Benjamin Guillemot (17 years old) was the winner of the second stage of the Hawk European Tour.
The second stage of the Hawk European Tour 2007
was held on the 21st April at the fantastic Ricordeau streetpark in
Nantes. It is one of the only french cities equipped with a streetpark in the
city center (thanks to David Couliau and Christophe Betille), which gave a
quality setting for the first skateboarding event organized in this unique
place.
Everything came together for a quality event. Plenty of sun and a good atmosphere set the backdrop for awasome skating from forty competitors.
Benjamin Guillemot won this second stage event. He competed in the 14-18 year old category and knew how to stand out thanks to his varied and technical tricks (bluntslide on the big rail, treflips with style). He is certainly a very serious contender for the grand final in August at Anglet.
Sebastien Leleu finished second, with an impressve performance, as did Anthony Boudart (3rd) and Pierre Meart (4th) who gave everything to try to win.
In the 10-14 year old category, it was Mihiel Guerhane who won with fluid and technical lines, composed of long, very long Bs five-O...closely followed by Paul Laforge and by Brieuc Fruchaud.
To close this event, the judges (Raphaël Brunis, Julien Bechet and Gregory Laufersweiler) also impressed the spectators with a very beautiful demonstration, accompanied by Arthur Fontaine who asserts his presence in the team: BS 3.6 ollie on the big gap …
In brief...the weather was perfect, the skaters and the public answered were on form. It was a very good skateboarding event. We hope to see you next year. In the meantime, we are looking forward to the next step at the Trinity skatepark in Milan (Italy) and in Anglet (France) on 22nd August for the Frand Final.
Thanks to all.
